This is large-flowered trillium which is actually the official Ohio state wildflower! It is very pretty and we had never seen it before!
These photos were taken before I lost my mind over some cars that went by and had to be carried back to our car because I was barking like a maniac and pulling so hard on the flexi lead that I was choking myself. Mom was not amused.
Gotta zoom!

Guiness has that problem to but with bikes. Its crazy and makes me crazy. Diana
OOOH Ricky I sympathize it is hard to be a herding dog and not want to handle the cars going by. I love that flower, so pretty, a great sign of spring! It is cool that the signs of spring are EVERYWHERE now, yippe, think that means it is officially here.
Misty & Oreo go nuts when they see crows. I don't get it.
Cool flower. Isn't it funny how the official "state" things can be such rare sightings? I've never seen our state bird (bluebird)in the wild.
What a beautiful picture of ricky and the flowers. EVA has the same problem with cars and we're trying to get her more used to them.
Were you scared of the cars? I get scared of loud trucks and motorcycles sometimes.
Wow...I didn't know that was our flower.

Great posing on the rock! We love the wind swept look.
It's starting to look so green all over. Sounds like you had a really nice walk out in the park - sorry about the whole car situation though!
Ricky, Ricky, Ricky. You KNOW that cars go by...and that you make your Mom nuts when you go nuts...so give it up little buddy! YOU CAN DO IT!
PS: That's Michigan's state flower too!!
Love the pictures. I just have to tell you that when I was at the lake with my friend last week, the dogs were off leash and an ATV drove by. Well, Zoe took off and chased that silly thing around the edge of the lake. I was mortified. She on the other hand came prancing back all proud of herself. :-P
You was just trying to round them up, I'll bet. BOL.
I never heard of a trillium. It is so pretty!
