Mom went back and looked at parts of my trial videos from the past few months this afternoon and was sad to see that she had to go all the way back to March 2010 to see me jumping more freely. She didn't realize that I had been having trouble for so many months. She knew that I had refused some jumps but she thought it was her handling or me being slow and not confident or it was just my jumping style (or lack there of). Mom doesn't really know what to think any more.
Gotta zoom!

Please tell your mom not to blame herself for not realising what was happening!! It's not her fault at all. We're just glad you're much better now :)
Woo are okay now SO please tell your mom not to agonize too much!
Happy Weekend!

Ricky looks good jumping. Dont beat yourself up over not realizing it sooner. The same has happened to me too. You didnt do it on purpose. Its ok, Im sure Ricky is ok with it too. Diana
I saw problems with Oreo's knee on old video's too, way beforehe started holding his leg way up in the air limping. But, I had to put them in slo-mo to see it.
Working dogs will work/play through the pain. It's what they do, until it gets too bad, and THEN they tell us. So, don't feel bad.
Ricky's doing better, and that's what matters.
But the problem is that I don't know that he is better. He refused the double in class on Tuesday. And if he was showing signs of bad jumping months ago, how could 2 weeks of rest solve the problem?
I tried watching the video on your page but it gave me an error, I found it on youtube though, he's got potential! Cool video, it must be a lot of fun to train with your dog like that. You have a cool blog, check out mine if you have time, I share coupons for dog food (I think you might like it)
All sort of things happen sometimes, ask your mum not to take the blame on herself. We hoped you're doing fine now.
There is never a good way to tell if they are hurting. I usually take Summit to the chiropractor and massage therapist every two months. He's usually out of alignment but so far it's been minor.
ughghghg, do not be too hard on yourself, I go through the same thing with Breeze and the weaves....is it physical- is it training and especially when the training issues sort of overlap with the physical ones, we are only human and we have to just do the best we can.....but it is hard when you just dont know....I feel for ya-now I know what to look for....sort of....It is still so hard to tell...
I agree with everyone else. You can't blame yourself.
So what did Dr. Jan say or have you not showed the doctor the video yet?
Glad that you are feeling better though Ricky. :)
I'm hoping the vet can ease your guilty feelings..and that RIcky is really feeling better. Hard to say why they do what they do...only they know, and they're not sharing!
Oh your human really shouldn't feel guilty! We all know she takes the best care of you! Sometimes these things just have to go on for a while people everyone notices - anyway, the important thing is that you're getting better now!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
you really shouldn't feel guilty, it's easier to notice things now that you're looking back, when you already know what you're looking for. At that time it was probably impossible to detect any changes in his movement. Sometimes a little bit of rest does a lot of good to both, the handler and the dog. I know that it's hard, but sometimes less simply is more.
I hate it when I find myself in these kind of thought patterns. When I finally find a reason for something that's been puzzling me, and then I vow that I won't make the same mistake twice, so I overanalyze everything. I honestly don't know which is worse. Not knowing, or knowing and trying to prevent anything from ever happening again.
For what it's worth, Ricky looks great in the videos that you've posted.
Hi Ricky! You guys ok with all the wind down there?
