A Fun Hike!

Dad, mom and I went for a fun hike today at one of our favorite places - Clear Creek Metro Park. It takes us about 45 minutes to get there, but boy is it worth it! We had the whole place to ourselves! It was supposed to be a sunny day but when we got there (around 12:30PM) it was cloudy and in the upper 40s. Mom even had to wear ear muffs because the breeze was so cool. It was perfect weather for me though! We did the pet trail - which is a dirt road up to the top of the ridge - and then on our way back we went on the Lake Trail (it technically did not say "no pets"). That trail was awesome - it went through forest and then a hemlock forest and then down to a little lake. We didn't get great photos but here are some so you can see any way.

We walked for a little over an hour and by that time, the sun came out. I got the zoomies really bad at the grassy picnic area and dad tried to get video, but I was way too fast. We did see an amazing flock of migrating grackles - it was very cool - and here is a little video so you can see and hear them too!

Sorry about the lack of a tRicky T-Day video yet again this week! We ARE still playing, Sara and Oreo, so don't give up on us! Thank you for keeping it going all these weeks that we miss!

Gotta zoom!

Ricky

You mean you took a week off? These weeks fly by so fast, I didn't even notice!

Those birds were loud! Very cool. Misty would have been barking her head off.

Your hike looks so pretty.

Those are gorgeous picutures and it looks like a really nice autumn walk -), and very cool to have the place to yourselves! Those are some loud birds! I wonder what my dogs would have thought, they have always wanted to herd the crows that land on the ground, I wonder if the noise would inspire them to chase them, or join them, or be scared of them, I know they have never seen anything like that.

What a great place to hike! I love it when we find somewhere we have all to ourselves. Not so easy now though, when I'm working during the week. Weekends at the park are never lonely!

Loved the video...leaving from work the last couple of days there have been hundreds of grackles lined up on the street lights and wiring. They're all facing into the wind and it would make a great photo if I wasn't in a car lined up behind dozens of other cars trying to get onto the freeway! LOL

Parks in the fall are the best!!!
They smell really good, and it's not so stinkin' hot. You can actually enjoy yourself without having you tongue hang out. That's what we think, anyway. That looks like a great place to hike!

Nice pictures and video. Its defiantly looking like the weather is getting cooler...snow on its way. And, we agree the perfect time of the year for a hike with out having our tongues hanging out. WOL :-)

What a gorgeous place to hike. I love seeing the pictures of all the fall color and leaves, but I hate that it means winter is soon to follow.
