Fun with Discriminations

We will post a little recap about today's class but we wanted to include a video. We haven't made it yet because it has been raining almost non-stop since we got home. So maybe we'll get to it tomorrow!

Yesterday we practiced some dogwalk/tunnel verbal discriminations. It had been awhile and so we videoed it for fun! Some times I get it and some times I don't. We are still using a hoopy thing at the end of the DW so that I run right off the edge. Mom took it away to see what would happen and I jumped from way above the yellow. So far on real DWs at classes and trials, I run all the way to the end. It could be that the angle of the ramps on mine at home is too steep or maybe I am just not confident enough to jump at a trial.

I have been meaning to tell you all and just keep forgetting - at my last trial I earned my first 2 MACH points with my JWW Q! Can you believe it - I was actually 2 whole seconds under SCT! So only 20 double Qs and 748 more points to go!! LOL!

Gotta zoom!

Congrats on your MACH points. Diana

Woohoo! Those first MACH points are just the beginning of many more to come, I'm sure! :-)

I wish I had room to set up discriminations like that in my back yard. All we have are weave poles! :(

You look great - that's such a valuable thing to train - if the rain and heat ever stops and we ever get back to agility class, it's something I hope we're going to focus on!

Congratulations to your MACH points! Well done! I amazed how well you did your discrimination. Not an easy thing for me here!

Ricky, you looked like you were having so much fun! Too bad your mom messed up sometimes, saying walk it, when it was time to tunnel. She was a good sport though, and laughed about her mistake. Most of the time, she was PERFECT!

You dogwalk has gotten so speedy.

Congratulations on your MACH points! That's awesome!

whooo hooooo, that is really cool about starting to accumulate those MACH points. Ricky looks so happy in the video, he looks like he is doing great. Is that one of those hoopey things from clean run?? I have one of those and was going to break it out for Crickets contact training.

Congratulations! I remember how excited I was when Sage earned her first MACH points. I just stared at the littel sticker on her ribbon.

Wow, already earning MACH points, you go Ricky!

I am a tunnel magnet myself and always want to go in that tunnel when they are set up like that.

The journey begins! Good luck and congrats!

You are so much fun to watch Ricky! That discrimination stuff is HARD! Once Katie got partway up the dogwalk and then decided she wanted to do tunnel and jumped on TOP of the tunnel! Silly girl!
