For my grandpa and for Diana!

We were surprised by this guy in the woods on our walk the other day!

He is just a black rat snake and not poisonous or anything. But we almost stepped on him - that is how unaware we were - LOL!

Gotta zoom!

Hi Y'all,

What a beautiful snake. We stopped the other day so my Human could chase a black snake sunning himself in the road. The Humans didn't want to run over him 'cause they are the "good guys".

Y'all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog

Awww! He's cute! I like snakes, the ones with cute faces. Some snakes look angry.

ACK!!! I had to check twice to see which blog I was on. I wondered if I had gone to Diana and Miley's instead of yours. LOL

How close did you have to get to take that last picture? Yikes.

I can't believe how close to the snake those photos are! Even with a super dooper zoomiest of the zooms lens I wouldn't have got that close. Yeech.(fab pics though!) We don't have snakes over here and I am GLAD! (ps sorry I haven't been commenting on your blog - have had blogger issues, I have been reading though - hope your mums arm is nearly all better)

We warned Mama not to open the link, but she said she could handle it. She was wrong. Now we are applying Sheltie first aide.

Mama is terrified of all snakes, even the harmless ones in pictures. We have had an issue with garter snakes this year and it has taken lots of Sheltie soothing to calm her.

Just how do you keep your Mama calm? We could use some pointers.

I believe in live and let live, all creatures have their place and are necessary but snakes scare me ;-)

Oh my!! What a whopper! We've never seen a snake, we find worms quite fascinating so our Mom says goodness knows how we'd be with a snake! Dex and Lou xxx
