My Own Chute!

Grandma made me my very own chute today! We had a nylon laundry hamper and cut out the ends and then attached about 10ft of nylon material to it. Grandma did all the cutting and sewing and everything! She and mom had me try it out right away at Grandma's house and I did it. Then we came home and dad video-ed me trying it out in my backyard!

Looks like fun, doesn't it? Now mom is going to take me and my chute all over so I can get used to doing it in new environments. Hopefully I will be cured of all chute paranoia!

Thank you so much Grandma!!!!!

Gotta zoom!

YEAAAAAA RICKY! You were going so FAST that third time through the chute, and the last time, did you go through it on your own??!!! One thing our instructor warned us about chute was to make sure it isn't left out where you can run through it on your own when no one is out in the yard because it can get tangled and you could get caught in it. So make sure Mom always takes it up when you're done working, OK? And make sure she always has it laying flat on the ground, not twisted before you run through it so you don't get hurt that way either! I know, I worry too much. But you're one of Katie's favorites and she doesn't want anything bad to happen! :)

That's awesome Ricky - you look more confident already.

I'm sure this will be a HUGE help!

very well done! you are lucky - we don't have any obstacles at home, only the plank for running contacts. But our training center is very near by, so we get to go there often :)

Oh Ricky - what a lovely grandma you have!!! I've never tried a chute ever and I think I'd be really scared - I'm a big wimp when it comes to a lot of things!! :-)

What a fast chute, and really fast weaves too!! I agree about what Dawn said about making sure the chute is straight. I always try to straighten our chute as soon as the dog goes through it, but a few times yesterday I forgot and Wall-e got tangled in it...not good, still trying to get his old speed back! :) Your chute looks good in the vid though!

To answer your question on my blog, the CR issue was November 2008 "Backyard Dogs," Fig. 10, a tough sequence for baby Wall-e but I bet you'd ace it :) Yep, I re-read all my old CR's!
