A Trip to the Big Lake!

On Tuesday we all got into the car early in the morning and drove to the biggest lake I have ever seen! I wasn't sure what we were doing, but after 2 1/2 hours in the car, I was ready for action! Plus I was over-the-top excited because dad was with us!! I can't hear mom talk at all when DAD is around! :)

I found out we were there to test out a kayak that dad wanted to buy. Here is the beach - check out the big rocks - you'll see me out on them later.

The sign said no pets allowed on the beach, but I am a Sheltie!

Dad had the boat and was heading out into the enormous lake! I wanted to swim after him, but I don't like swimming so I barked a lot instead.

There are the rocks - in the last picture I am clear out on the third to the last one - mom almost had a heart attack because I just went running right out there not concerned at all about the big gaps between the rocks.

Dad - come back!

We were surprised at how clear the water was.

Trying to get as close as possible without getting wet - mom was calling my name, I think, so I would look at  her, but I couldn't take my eyes off DAD!

I had a blast on the beach. Sadly we did not stay very long and soon I was back in the car for the long ride home. We got the kayak though! Dad is super happy!

Gotta zoom!

The great lakes are amazing! I bet the water was really, really cold though. When I live din Chicago, Lake Michigan never got above 55 degrees. Brrrrr. Sure was pretty though.

Glad you had such a beautiful day for your trip.

That's beautiful!! What lake is that?

Ricky, I've never seen your dad! It's nice to "meet" him - or at least put a face to his name.

I'm glad you had a fun time at the lake :)

LOVE love love the Great Lakes!!! This is what I wish I could do with Katie, take her out to the big lake and let her run. I see that YOU like to at least get your feet wet. Katie I don't think would do even that. I bet your Mom DID have a heart attack with you running out there on those rocks! What if you fell in, would you expect your Mom to get in that freezing water to save you! Silly you! Oh yea...I'm pretty sure shelties aren't really dogs..more like people. Yes they are.

OMD! I would have thought it was a sea!!! What a big and beautiful lake and the water was so clear!

Eva is just like you. She won't let herself get wet but will also stay very close to the water and bark a lot too.

It seems there will be more visits to the lake soon. The kayak looks cool!

Shelties aren't pets! They are princes and princesses!!!

Oh Rickie - I am glad to see I am not the only one who is a daddies boy. Sure the Mom's take care if us, feed us and pamper us - but they just NOT dad's are they. I think he should of took you out in the kayak though....he needs your approval on how good it really was

Love the post. Technically I didn't see any pictures of you on the "beach". You were either on the water or on the rocks. Mommy considers "beach" the sand part of it -- am I right or what! Anyway, we totally agree with your logic anyway -- No pets allowed -- except Shelties --- that's what the sign should say!

I can not understqnd why/how a no pets sign would apply to you, you are RICKY and a mighty Sheltie, geeze...they are lucky you were making their beaches look so pretty. Glad you had a great outting with your Dad Rcky!
