More than a week has gone by once again without a post from me and I have no really good excuse! I am also behind in reading blogs. The weather here has been gorgeous for the past week - I feel very guilty saying that when so many were hit with Irene - but it is true. We are outside a lot and playing agility and going for walks. Yesterday we went on an awesome walk but the mosquitoes attacked us with a vengeance and no one wanted to stop long enough for pictures!
Mom is busy with her new job - physical therapy for her wrist! She goes there a couple times a week for torture and also has a long list of exercises to do twice a day at home. She is working hard to be able to play again once the symphony season starts in October. I am supportive and bark to count repetitions for her - :)
I'm not going to promise anything this time but I hope to have a real post for you all soon!
Since I haven't been going to classes or trials, all my agility this summer has been in the backyard for FUN! I have learned some obstacle focus so now when mom is actually running with me and tries to indicate the jump she wants with her motion, I sometimes veer off and take jumps on my own. Catastrophic if you are working to be on the World Team but awesome if you are just having fun and creating joy and independence! :)
We are a little confused about which week we are on in the weave challenge. However right or wrong, this week we did position 6. At the end mom added an extra bit of her running in the opposite direction from me and that was VERY tough! I didn't like it at all. If mom hadn't done all that cheering, I would've stopped dead in my tracks. I thought she had lost her rocker! LOL!
(Mom would like to apologize for the horrible butt shots of her big gray bottom - she certainly wasn't thinking when she set the camera up at that angle.)
No real excuse for why I haven't been blogging but today I am! I think we are starting a break from the very hot weather we've been having and I am so excited about that! And mom's wrist is about 90% healed - she only has to wear the brace now when it is sore and she starts physical therapy on Friday. I am expecting to get to do a LOT more stuff - more trips to the park, more hiking, more agility, more tricks, etc. I hope mom doesn't let me down! :)
We did week 5 of the weave challenge a few days ago and then had trouble getting our Flip software to work. Finally we were able to post it! Mom has a problem with getting the correct angles and hopes that each week the jump is close enough to the angle that it should be. If you watch closely, you'll see me decide that the jump is really unnecessary to the exercise any way - LOL!
My name is Ricky (Covewind Little Ricky, AX,AXJ,CGC) and I am a six year old tri-color Shetland Sheepdog. I do agility and I like to learn tricks too! This blog is about all that and some other stuff as well!
