tRicky T-Day!

Wow - we got lots of freezing rain yesterday and all last night. Tree branches were falling and making loud crashing noises all night long - I had to bark and let mom and dad know about every single one! And electric transformers were arcing and blowing out. Some how we were lucky and we still have power today. Boy when you realize your electricity may go out at any moment, you start being super grateful when it doesn't!

The ice on top of our left-over snow has made it nearly impossible for me to walk outside to potty. Mom tried to let me go out on my own yesterday but I was silly and tried to run on the slippery snow. (well, there was a car going by). I fell really hard on my side. And I didn't learn from that and fell again later. So mom has been taking me out on a leash to potty. I haven't been able to run (except for when I almost killed myself) since Monday. No walks around the neighborhood either. The temperatures are going to drop drastically tonight and the ice won't be melting for a long, long time. I don't know when my life is going to get back to normal!

Enough about that - on to tRicky T-Day! Now that I know how to retrieve my dumbbell, mom is making me learn how to retrieve other stuff (typical, why did I learn the dumbbell retrieve?). Remember when Oreo was learning to carry his trick or treat bucket? Mom stole that idea from Sara only I am getting ready for Easter!

Gotta zoom!

Ricky

Ricky, sorry about all that ice. We just had rain, which made a big muddy mess, so we weren't allowed out much either. and we haven't had a walk for I can't remember when. Too much salt all over the place. really glad your power stayed on.

Easter is a longg way away but you are already prepared! woohoo! You look so ADORABLE holding that basket!! I'm sure the guests will LOVE you!

I'm sorry to hear about you slipping on the ice. Better be careful!! It's dangerous out there. We don't need ice for Eva to slip. She just slips on wet floor when she's doing her zoomies. Eek.

wow, I feel so bad for all of you there, you should be here visiting! No snow anywhere to be seen. Seriously, be careful.
WELL, Ricky you opened the flood gates when you learned that carrying the dumb bell trick! I have been having my dogs pick up more and more things, it really does seem like a great way of cementing and making sure they understand the behavior of picking things up and retrieving, and gosh what a useful trick that could be one day. Ricky is just doing so well, you would think he just came knowing all about retrieving dumb bells and carrying things, what a smartie pants he is. GREAT WORK you guys!

Awwww, that is too cute! Now, I have to go get an easter basket! WHat a fun trick.

Ice storms are the WORST. We bought a generator last week, because we never want to be without power in the winter again. WInters seems to be brutal lately.

Stay safe.

You look so cute with that basket - I think you should take that to the pet store next time you go and carry it around. I am sure the humans will be so impressed that they will want to put lots of treats in it for you.

can't see the video yet, I'm at work and they don't allow it...but geeze Ricky, shelties are supposed to be SMART! So stop running on the ice already! LOL. Hope it melts soon but I know it won't. We got lots of snow, but snow is more fun than ice, that's for sure!

Be safe little buddy! Tell your folks to stay in and play with you!

OMG, Ludo! That dog does look just like me! Poor guy - hard to believe he is being rehomed - he seems so smart and everything. Do you think you might take him in?

I know, he seems such a good guy, and aren't we all a bit afraid of children? We will wait and see what we hear back. The only American line Mum can really think of over here is the Obay's http://obayshelties.blogspot.com/
Very sought after little agility dogs if he is one!

After I finally get caught up on everyone's blogs, I feel so much better about our cold weather. I hope you stay safe in all that snow and ice. IT's just aweful!

Your retrieving looks fanstastic!

I hope that things get back to normal for you.

You sure are cute with your basket. You going to go to the dog Easter egg hunts?

Oh Ricky - I hope you didn't hurt yourself falling down from the slipping! The snow & stuff always looks so pretty in the pictures but I guess it can be a pain to live with it too! :-)

You look SO cute with your basket!!
