Yesterday mom and I took grandma and grandpa on a wildflower walk! I just wanted to keep going but they stopped and admired lots of plants along the way. It was a beautiful day - sunny and in the 70s.
As we began, the trail into the woods was lined with wild geranium.
Mom especially went to see this - toadshade or sessile trillium. This is the only place she knows of to find it.
Some wild blue phlox -
Wild ginger! We had never seen this before! The flower hides near the ground under the leaves and is easy to miss.
Me posing on a log near the creek -
Celandine or wood poppy - not a great photo but another first for mom -
We had an awesome time. However, we were near the end of the trail and mom found a tick climbing up my leg! Then there was one on mom's shirt and we found another on my foot when we got home. Yuck! Still a walk that was well worth it!
Gotta zoom!
